Basketball Recap: Rock Point Comes Up Short

Rock Point played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Fort Thomas Apaches, falling 76-40. The Cougars were down 54-28 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Rock Point still got an impressive performance from Ryer James, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards. James is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Shiloh Chee was another key player, going 5 for 10 on his way to 11 points.

Fort Thomas' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Michael Olivar, who went 7 of 13 en route to 20 points. Another player making a difference was Channing Wilson, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds.

Rock Point dropped their record down to 5-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Fort Thomas, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-8.

Rock Point didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 68-24 victory against Shonto Prep on the 14th. As for Fort Thomas, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-48 win against Duncan on the 14th.
