Preview: BASIS Phoenix Firebirds vs. Glendale Prep Academy Griffins
BASIS Phoenix has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Thursday. They will take on the Glendale Prep Academy Griffins at 7:00 p.m. BASIS Phoenix will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Glendale Prep Academy is ranked 51st).
Last Monday, BASIS Phoenix took a serious blow against Heritage Academy, falling 72-16. BASIS Phoenix was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-9.
Meanwhile, Glendale Prep Academy earned a 48-40 win over Chandler Prep on Monday. The victory was just what Glendale Prep Academy needed coming off of a 66-46 defeat in their prior game.
Glendale Prep Academy can attribute much of their success to Jacob Krause, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Fredrickson, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds.
Basis' victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while BASIS Phoenix's defeat dropped theirs to 1-4.
BASIS Phoenix was taken down by Glendale Prep Academy 55-24 in their previous meeting back in January. Can BASIS Phoenix avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
