Baseball Game Preview: Victor Valley Jackrabbits vs. Colony Titans

The Victor Valley Jackrabbits will head out on the road to challenge the Colony Titans at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Victor Valley has struggled recently with nine losses in a row, while Colony will arrive with five straight wins.

Friday just wasn't the day for Victor Valley's offense. They fell 5-0 to Silverado on Friday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Jackrabbits were not able to get on the board.

Tyler Aguilar was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Colony got the win against Oxford Academy on Saturday by a conclusive 14-1. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Michael Huicochea tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Adrian Sifuentes, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-6. Those hits were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Angel Serna, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Colony kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.

Colony's record now sits at 14-3. As for Victor Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Victor Valley might still be hurting after the 9-1 loss they got from Colony in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Jackrabbits avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
