Basketball Recap: Whitley County Comes Up Short

If Whitley County was feeling good fresh off their 80-57 takedown of Harlan last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Whitley County Colonels took a 72-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bell County Bobcats on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Colonels in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Whitley County's loss dropped their record down to 19-10. As for Bell County, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season.

Whitley County will square off against Corbin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bell County, they and Barbourville will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played.
