Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for West Ottawa's offense. They fell just short of Grand Haven by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, West Ottawa can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while Grand Haven are ranked 17th).

Rockford pushed their record up to 10-1-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those seven contests. As for West Ottawa, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8-3.

Rockford was able to grind out a solid victory over West Ottawa in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
