Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Valdez walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Nome-Beltz Nanooks on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Buccaneers, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Valdez didn't let Nome-Beltz take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-22, 25-22.

Valdez's win bumped their record up to 44-11-1. As for Nome-Beltz, their loss dropped their record down to 21-19-2.

Valdez has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Kenai Central on the 13th. Nome-Beltz does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
