Football Game Preview: Carlin Railroaders vs. Owyhee Braves + How To Watch

Carlin is 8-2 against Owyhee since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Railroaders will head out to square off against the Braves at 11:00 a.m. One thing working in Carlin's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last seven matchups.

Carlin is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Mineral County, who was ranked third at the time (Carlin was ranked fourth). The Railroaders received a blow last Friday as they fell 54-38 to the Serpents. The loss was the Railroaders' first of the season.

Carlin might have lost, but man, Dylan Ramirez was a machine: he rushed for 247 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry, and also caught one score. Ramirez also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up two sacks and making nine total tackles. Another player making a difference was Gage Lewis, who rushed for 75 yards and one TD.

Even if they lost, Carlin's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In that department, Ramirez was the leader with two. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his tenth straight game with at least 143 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Owyhee was beaten by McDermitt 69-14 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Braves have suffered against the Bulldogs since October 1, 2016.

Owyhee's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Carlin, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Everything came up roses for Carlin against Owyhee when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 46-0 victory. Will the Railroaders repeat their success, or do the Braves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
