Basketball Recap: Cuthbertson Takes a Loss

Cuthbertson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Marvin Ridge Mavericks and fell 71-30. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Mavericks this season, with their most recent loss being a 88-45 defeat last Wednesday.

Cuthbertson's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Megan Coffey, who posted 14 points. The dominant performance gave Coffey a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amayah Rogers, who scored nine points.

Cuthbertson's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Marvin Ridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Cuthbertson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marvin Ridge, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-47 win against Weddington on the 21st.
