Football Recap: Wood-Ridge Starts off Right with Win over Wallington

Wood-Ridge gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Wallington Panthers 8-7.

Isabella Drotos threw for 135 yards and one touchdown on only 12 passes. Fiona Helly was her top target, picking up 115 receiving yards.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Wood-Ridge is set to challenge their familiar foe North Arlington at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. Meanwhile, Wallington will square off against rival Ridgefield Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
