Volleyball Game Preview: Xavier Hawks vs. Fox Valley Lutheran Foxes

The Xavier Hawks will square off against the Fox Valley Lutheran Foxes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Xavier took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Appleton North 3-0. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Lightning recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Xavier never let Appleton North on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-17, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Fox Valley Lutheran made easy work of Winneconne on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win.

While Fox Valley Lutheran won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-13, 25-22.

Xavier's victory bumped their record up to 22-7. As for Fox Valley Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 22-8.

Xavier came out on top in a nail-biter against Fox Valley Lutheran when the teams last played back in August, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Foxes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
