Interboro has gone a perfect 10-0 against Chester recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Buccaneers are taking a road trip to challenge the Clippers at 3:30 p.m. Interboro is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8 runs per game this season.
Interboro came out on top against Academy Park on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Buccaneers blew past the Knights 12-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Buccaneers.
Austin Dean made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Interboro got a massive performance out of JJ Nelson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave Nelson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evan Thomas, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Interboro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Chester fell victim to Chichester and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 23-0 to the Eagles. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Clippers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Chester's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Interboro, their record is now 8-4.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Interboro has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .476. However, it's not like Chester struggles in that department as they've averaged .509. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Interboro's way against Chester in their previous matchup back in April, as Interboro made off with a 13-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buccaneers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
