Shawn Robinson highlights vs. SteeleDeSoto was one of eight teams to finish 16-0 on the season.
How rare is it for a high school football team to go undefeated? Considered there are over 16,000 teams that play high school football in the country and just over 1 percent of them finished undefeated.
A total of 145 of those teams played 11-man football while another 33 played either 9-man, 8-man or 6-man football.
The teams that shared the top record were from just two states, all going 16-0. They included Aledo, Bremond, DeSoto, Gunter and West Orange-Stark from Texas and Reidsville, Shelby and Wake Forest from North Carolina.
Following is a list of all 178 schools that went undefeated during the 2016 high school football season, based on scores and records compiled by MaxPreps.
