Basketball Recap: Akron-Fairgrove Takes a Loss

If Akron-Fairgrove was feeling good fresh off their 44-23 takedown of Bentley last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Akron-Fairgrove Vikings were beaten by the Carsonville-Port Sanilac Tigers 71-34 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Akron-Fairgrove's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Carsonville-Port Sanilac, their win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-8.

Akron-Fairgrove and Carsonville-Port Sanilac's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Akron-Fairgrove will challenge More Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, a team that's only allowed 29 points per game. Similarly, Carsonville-Port Sanilac and Kingston (who has only given up 27.7 points per game) will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
