Basketball Recap: Dixie Comes Up Short

Dixie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 60-12 defeat at the hands of the Arcanum Trojans. The Greyhounds were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.

Leading Arcanum to victory were Lexy Gibbons and Matty Noe. Gibbons went 7 of 11 en route to 20 points and three steals, while Noe went 5 for 9 on her way to 13 points in addition to eight assists and four steals. Those eight assists gave Noe a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caroline Long, who went 6 for 7 en route to 13 points and five rebounds.

Dixie's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Arcanum, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Dixie is taking a road trip to square off against Madison at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Arcanum, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greenon at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Greenon has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 179 points over their last three games.
