Baseball Recap: Braden River Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Braden River extended their postseason success on Thursday against Fort Myers. They had just enough and edged out the Green Wave 4-2. This was a revenge game for the Pirates: when they faced off against the Green Wave on Wednesday, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

Uriel Barrios looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Braden River's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Camden Pope, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Braden River hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games.

Braden River is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fort Myers, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-11.

Braden River will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Green Wave: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
