Basketball Game Preview: Firth Cougars vs. Ririe Bulldogs

The Firth Cougars will challenge the Ririe Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Firth sitting on six straight victories and Ririe on three.

Last Tuesday, Firth beat South Fremont 61-54. Given Firth's advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while South Fremont is ranked 85th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, in Wednesday's Canine Competition, Ririe came out on top. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past North Fremont 54-52.

Firth's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Ririe, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Firth beat Ririe 54-47 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Does Firth have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ririe turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
