Baseball Game Preview: Windsor Jaguars vs. Rancho Cotate Cougars

For the second straight game, Windsor will face off against Rancho Cotate. The Jaguars are taking a road trip to square off against the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Windsor has nine straight victories, Rancho Cotate has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

It was a proper cat-fight when Windsor duked it out with Rancho Cotate on Wednesday. The Jaguars came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 7-2.

Micah Sanders was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Noah Strozewski was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

Windsor's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Rancho Cotate, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.
