June Jordan School of Equity won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were dealt a 95-68 defeat at the hands of the Marshall Phoenix. One positive for the Jaguars, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why June Jordan School of Equity lost, don't look at Sir'Elmo Wright. Despite the final result, he posted 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarod Carino, who earned seven points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marshall to victory, but perhaps none more so than Apollo Hinds, who dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 11 assists, and ten steals. With that strong performance, Hinds is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Kaelil Travis was another key player, going 6 for 13 on his way to 15 points in addition to eight boards and six steals.

June Jordan School of Equity dropped their record down to 4-8 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Marshall, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. June Jordan School of Equity has already played their next contest (against City Arts and Leadership Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Marshall will take on Sterne at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Sterne comes in on five and Marshall on three.
