Basketball Recap: Canton's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Canton's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They secured a 55-49 W over the Limestone Rockets. The victory was some much needed relief for the Little Giants as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Canton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ella Demler led the charge by going 5 of 10 on her way to 12 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Demler continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Grace Spencer was another key player, going 6 for 10 en route to 15 points and seven boards.

The win got Canton back to even at 11-11. As for Limestone, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Canton will face off against Morton at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Morton will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Canton surely won't give up without a fight. Limestone has already played their next game, a 39-38 win against Ottawa on the 16th.
