Football Recap: Grant Fricke Key Part of Team Effort in Trojans Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Camp Point Central, Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They strolled past Routt Catholic/Lutheran with points to spare, taking the game 26-7. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 34-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Grant Fricke out in front who rushed for 82 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 82 rushing yards gave Fricke a new career-high. Bronc Bogner was another key rusher, rushing for 66 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 300 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Routt Catholic/Lutheran only rushed for 100 rushing yards.

Despite the loss, Routt Catholic/Lutheran still got an impressive performance from Gavan Sheehan, who rushed for 87 yards and one score.

The victory got Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia back to even at 2-2. As for Routt Catholic/Lutheran, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
