Basketball Recap: Wall Piles Up the Points Against Jones County

Wall hadn't done well against Jones County recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Wall Eagles blew past the Jones County Coyotes, posting a 68-41 victory. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Coyotes are ranked 125th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wall's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Younger Amiotte, who went 8 of 11 en route to 16 points and three steals. Amiotte has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Teelan Kjerstad, who posted 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists.

Wall smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Wall now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Jones County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Wall didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 67-19 win against Bennett County on the 11th. As for Jones County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-50 loss against Kadoka on the 16th.
