Basketball Recap: Midlakes Comes Up Short

Midlakes lost to Palmyra-Macedon back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Screaming Eagles received a blow as they fell 60-46 to the Red Raiders. The Screaming Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Midlakes saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Finnan Damann dropped a double-double with 22 points and 18 boards. Those 18 rebounds set a new season-high mark for Damann. Jesse Bennett was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Midlakes' loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Palmyra-Macedon, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-7.

Midlakes didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 89-49 defeat against Newark on the 17th. As for Palmyra-Macedon, they have also already played their next contest, a 58-42 loss against Wayne on the 17th.
