Baseball Recap: Southaven Comes Up Short

Southaven was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 18-1 to Oxford. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Oxford this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 last Tuesday.

Southaven's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Oxford, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4.

Coming up, Southaven will venture away from home to take on Lake Cormorant at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Oxford, they will take on South Panola at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (South Panola 4, Oxford 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
