The Backyard Bowl will once again pack the stands in Oklahoma.

Union (Tulsa, Okla.) vs. Jenks (Okla.)

Why it's big: Put simply, this might be the best rivalry in high school football today. In Oklahoma's biggest classification, no team other than these district border rivals has won the state championship since 1996. That's 19 years running after Jenks won its third in a row and 15th overall last season.

As usual, the University of Tulsa will host the annual game, dubbed the Backyard Bowl. It's played at UT's Chapman Stadium to accommodate crowds that typically approach 20,000 fans. Since 2004, the teams have met 20 times – including eight consecutive meetings in the playoffs. Jenks beat Union, 21-14, in last year's 6A title game to even up the series at 10 wins apiece during that stretch.

Names to watch:
State No. 1 Jenks senior wide receiver/defensive back Dillon Stoner is one of the most versatile playmakers in the state of Oklahoma. The three-star prospect is committed to Oklahoma State. Stoner caught the winning touchdown pass in the Trojans' win over Union in last season's state championship game.

Running back Tyler Adkins opened his senior season with 181 rushing yards and two touchdowns, but it wasn't enough for state No. 2 Union to avoid losing at home to Carroll (Southlake, Texas), 34-30. The Redskins let a 23-7 halftime lead slip away.
