Softball Recap: Vardaman Takes a Loss

After flying high against Winona last Thursday, Vardaman came back down to earth. Vardaman came up short against the South Pontotoc Cougars on Monday, falling 18-1. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Vardaman's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for South Pontotoc, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Vardaman will challenge Houlka at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Pontotoc, they will head out to square off against East Webster at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
