Volleyball Recap: Chase County Extends Winning Streak to Five

Chase County had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bridgeport Bulldogs. The Longhorns have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Chase County was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-10, 25-16.

Leading Chase County to victory were Aria McNair and Alexandria Reeves. McNair had 12 digs and two assists, while Reeves had eight digs and three aces. That's the most digs McNair has posted over her last six matchups.

They weren't the only good servers: Chase County was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive contests.

Claire Eckhardt and Kayci Sorenson certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Eckhardt had eight digs and one assist, while Sorenson had six digs.

Chase County's victory bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Bridgeport, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-17.

Chase County has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against St. Patrick's on the 18th. Hopefully Bridgeport paid attention to the Longhorns' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Longhorns at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
