Volleyball Recap: Cristo Rey Takes a Loss

After flying high against School for Entrepreneurship & Technology on Wednesday, Cristo Rey came back down to earth. The Coyotes came up short against the Ocean View Christian Patriots on Friday, falling 3-0. The Coyotes haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Leading Ocean View Christian to victory were Abby Ducharme and Tori Worthington. Ducharme had nine digs, eight aces, six kills, and four blocks, while Worthington had 11 kills, eight aces, and four digs. That's the most aces Worthington has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyla Crosby, who had seven aces and three digs.

Cristo Rey's loss dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Ocean View Christian, their win ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Cristo Rey will square off against rival Bonsall at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Ocean View Christian is set to take on their familiar foe High Tech CV at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
