Basketball Recap: Siouxland Christian Takes a Loss

Siouxland Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Homer Knights and fell 72-16. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 331st in Iowa, while the Knights are ranked 47th in Nebraska).

Homer got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alexandra Albrecht out in front who went 5 of 10 en route to 12 points in addition to six boards and five steals. Tori Walker was another key player, going 5 for 8 on her way to 11 points.

Siouxland Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Homer, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Siouxland Christian will challenge West Monona on Friday. Siouxland Christian is facing West Monona at the right time seeing as West Monona is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Homer, they will square off against Walthill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
