Baseball Recap: St. Anthony Takes a Loss

It was a good run, but St. Anthony unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Effingham Hearts by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 6-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

St. Anthony saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Lauritzen, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

St. Anthony's loss dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Effingham, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

While St. Anthony had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
