Basketball Game Preview: Central Rockets vs. Palmetto Panthers

Two dominant guards in Keri Foster and Santiago Henriquez are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Central Rockets will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Palmetto Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 72.4 points per game this season.

Central is headed into the match having just posted their closest victory since January 19, 2024 on Saturday. They skirted past Everglades 52-50. The 52-point effort marked the Rockets' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Foster continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 9 for 15 on his way to 22 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The game was his tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Willie Dye III, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, Palmetto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took an 83-75 hit to the loss column at the hands of Divine Savior Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (66), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Palmetto's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Central, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3.

Central skirted past Palmetto 74-71 when the teams last played back in November of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Henriquez, who went 11 of 24 en route to 39 points and three steals.
