Baseball Recap: J.H. Rose Comes Up Short

J.H. Rose and North Lincoln squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but J.H. Rose had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-0. The shutout was out of character for the Rampants seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in April.

Parker Simo was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, J.H. Rose saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joyner Haddock, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

J.H. Rose's loss dropped their record down to 28-5. As for North Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 22-9 record this season.

While J.H. Rose had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
