Softball Recap: Bellevue Comes Up Short

While it was Bellevue who put the first runs on the board on Monday, it was Norwalk who put up more. The Redmen fell just short of the Truckers by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Truckers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-7 on Thursday.

Chloe Easterwood was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. MyahAnn Reesman also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Bellevue's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Norwalk, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bellevue will venture away from home to challenge Sandusky at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Redmen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Streaks have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Norwalk, they are taking a road trip to square off against Columbian at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Truckers are facing the Tornadoes at the right time seeing as the Tornadoes are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
