Soccer Recap: Sweeny Drops Highest Score of Season Against La Marque

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sweeny). They were the clear victor by a 4-1 margin over the La Marque Cougars on Saturday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their one-goal performance the contest before.

They hit La Marque with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kailee Ponce (2), Emma McCurdy, and Madison Warner.

Sweeny now has a winning record of 6-5. As for La Marque, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Sweeny has already played their next matchup (against Needville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. La Marque will head out to challenge Stafford at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Stafford will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something La Marque surely won't give up without a fight.
