Basketball Game Preview: Galena Grizzlies vs. Spanish Springs Cougars

Galena is 0-10 against Spanish Springs since February of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Galena Grizzlies will host the Spanish Springs Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Galena knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Spanish Springs likes a good challenge.

Galena is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since January 27th on Saturday. They fell just short of McQueen by a score of 66-64. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (58), the Grizzlies still had to take the loss.

Spanish Springs has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 52-41 to Peachtree Ridge on Monday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cougars came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fifth in Nevada, while the Lions are ranked 109th in Georgia).

Spanish Springs' loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Galena, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Galena couldn't quite finish off Spanish Springs in their previous matchup back in January and fell 69-67. Can Galena avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
