Recap: Weeki Wachee Hornets vs. Citrus Hurricanes
In what's become a running theme this season, the Weeki Wachee Hornets gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 52-13 victory over Citrus at home. The victory was some much needed relief for Weeki Wachee as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Weeki Wachee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marlee Schumacher, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Schumacher has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Joelys Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Weeki Wachee's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Citrus, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-12.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Central the next time they take the court. Weeki Wachee will host Central at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Citrus will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
