Basketball Recap: Upper Scioto Valley's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Arlington, Upper Scioto Valley was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 42-29 victory over the Ridgemont Golden Gophers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 41-27 back in December of 2024.

Upper Scioto Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Shalyn Lawrence out in front who posted 12 points and five boards. That's the most points Lawrence has posted since back in November of 2024. Layla Hunsicker was another key player, putting up nine points and six rebounds.

Upper Scioto Valley's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11. As for Ridgemont, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Upper Scioto Valley is taking a road trip to square off against Ada at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Upper Scioto Valley is facing Ada at the right time seeing as Ada is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Ridgemont, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 49-37 loss against Vanlue on the 25th.
