Basketball Recap: 15 Straight Road Victories for Orleans

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Orleans). They claimed a resounding 73-31 win over the Crawford County Wolfpack. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 402nd), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Orleans to victory were Rylan Crocker and Alex DeWitt. Crocker went 7 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 23 points, while DeWitt went 5 for 8 en route to 13 points along with eight boards and four steals. Those four steals gave DeWitt a new career-high. Nate Brown was another key player, putting up ten points and five assists.

Orleans was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the defeat, Crawford County had strong showings from Braxton Bowman, who went 6 for 12 en route to 13 points, and Blake Seibert, who posted six points and eight rebounds. That was a full 41.9% of Crawford County's points, marking the third time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Landon Sines also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Orleans pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Crawford County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Orleans didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-35 win against Lanesville on the 18th. Crawford County has also already played their next matchup (against Corydon Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
