Recap: James Island Trojans vs. Bluffton Bobcats
On Tuesday, the James Island Trojans faced the Bluffton Bobcats in a battle between two of the state's top teams. James Island fell 59-50 to Bluffton. James Island's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, James Island still got an impressive performance from Andrea Duncan, who scored 29 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Duncan also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Alaina Graf was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Tacoya Heyward continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bluffton, almost dropping a triple-double on 22 points, nine assists, and nine steals. Heyward is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ja'laina Mosley, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
James Island's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4. As for Bluffton, their victory was their 16th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-1.
James Island will take on Lucy Beckham at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lucy Beckham has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Bluffton, they will head out on the road to square off against Colleton County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Colleton County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Bluffton is ranked 18th).
