Basketball Game Preview: Benjamin Franklin Falcons vs. East Jefferson Warriors

The Benjamin Franklin Falcons will square off against the East Jefferson Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Monday, Benjamin Franklin was beaten by Riverdale 50-16. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Rebels are ranked 87th).

East Jefferson got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They enjoyed a cozy 48-32 win over West Jefferson on Wednesday. The Warriors pushed the score to 44-15 by the end of the third, a deficit the Buccaneers cut but never quite recovered from.

East Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Benjamin Franklin, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 14-16.

Benjamin Franklin took their win against East Jefferson in their previous matchup back in November of 2020 by a conclusive 55-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Benjamin Franklin since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
