Baseball Recap: Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves vs. Louisa-Muscatine Falcons
Winfield-Mt. Union extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 3-9 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Louisa-Muscatine Falcons. The Wolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 11-1.
As for Louisa-Muscatine, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-9. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games.
For Louisa-Muscatine's part, Owen Klocksiem made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk).
