Baseball Recap: Perryton Comes Up Short

Perryton suffered their closest loss since March 7, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Randall Raiders by a score of 5-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-0 back in March.

Jaxten Castanon was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Caden Rodriguez was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Perryton has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Randall, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-7-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Perryton is set to take on their familiar foe Dumas at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Randall will face off against rival Borger at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
