Basketball Recap: North Miami Beach Piles Up the Points Against Reagan

North Miami Beach won the last time they faced Reagan and things went their way on Wednesday too. The North Miami Beach Chargers blew past the Reagan Bison, posting a 50-15 win. The Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 30 points or more this season.

North Miami Beach found their leader in freshman Serena Volcy, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Volcy has scored at least a third of North Miami Beach's points. Another player making a difference was Ashley Rodney, who posted five points.

Despite the defeat, Reagan had strong showings from Camila Reyes, who scored eight points, and Sophia Naranjo-Palma, who earned four points and four steals. Naranjo-Palma is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 25 games she's played dating back to last season.

North Miami Beach has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.4 points per game. As for Reagan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.

North Miami Beach wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 39-17 victory against Mourning on the 30th. Reagan has also already played their next match, a 33-29 win against South Miami on the 31st.
