Softball Recap: Oakwood Comes Up Short

Oakwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 11-7 to the Carroll Patriots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lumberjacks of the 7-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Reed Archdeacon was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Mia Chesar was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Oakwood's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Carroll, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-9.

Looking ahead, Oakwood will challenge Eaton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carroll, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Meadowdale at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
