Gage Voyles commands the offense for Colts win

Recap: Coahulla Creek Colts vs. Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors

Even though the Coahulla Creek Colts have not done well against the Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Coahulla Creek strolled past Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe with points to spare, taking the game 67-53. Given Coahulla Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe is ranked 419th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Coahulla Creek got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gage Voyles out in front who dropped a triple-double on 13 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists. Cullen Marti was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and three blocks.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Darian Keefe, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Champion Bowman, who scored ten points along with six assists.

Coahulla Creek has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-14.

Coahulla Creek will be playing at home against Bremen at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Coahulla Creek has three straight wins, Bremen has 22 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field. As for Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, they will head out on the road to take on LaFayette at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
