Basketball Recap: Donovan Dickens Key Part of Team Effort in Knights Win

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Greenfield ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They walked away with an 80-68 victory over the Prince George's Christian Academy Flyers.

Greenfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Donovan Dickens led the charge by going 8-for-17 to rack up 24 points and five boards. Thanks to that strong game, Dickens now owns an excellent 45.5% shooting accuracy. Braxten Dubose was another key player, dropping a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds.

Prince George's Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Oladejy Olorungbohinmi, who shot 40% from the field on his way to 19 points in addition to six boards and four steals, and Wisdom Carter, who went 5-for-9 en route to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olaitan Oloringbohinmi, who posted 13 points.

Greenfield pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.0 points over those games. As for Prince George's Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Greenfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 77-70 win against Mount Zion Christian Academy on the 25th. As for Prince George's Christian Academy, they will take on Varsity Opponent at 4:15 p.m. on the 30th.
