Volleyball Recap: Lamar Beats Jackson Prep for Their Ninth Straight Win

Lamar extended their winning streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Tuesday, bumping them up to 5-0. Everything went their way against the Jackson Prep Patriots as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Patriots, too.

Libby Tulip paced Lamar's offense, picking up 20 kills. Tulip got some help from Rylee Schimelpfening and her 29 assists. Schimelpfening was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jackson Prep fell to 2-1. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.

Despite the loss, Jackson Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mercy Robbins had seven digs and six assists.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lamar is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Jackson Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jackson Prep, they will face off against Pillow Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
