Baseball Recap: Woods Cross' Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Woods Cross dropped their record down to 12-9 on Monday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They fell 7-3 to the Viewmont Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-4 on Friday.

Kason Lythgoe was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

As for Viewmont, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.

On Viewmont's side, Kade Marriott was excellent, going 1-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Marriott is becoming a predictor of the Vikings' success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 8-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Gehrig Lee, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
