Volleyball Recap: East Wilkes Triumphs

East Wilkes's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Elkin Buckin' Elks 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cardinals have posted since August 28th.

Gracelynn Whitt had an outrageously good game as she had 20 digs and four assists. Those four assists gave her a new career-high. Marissa Gambill also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

With the win, East Wilkes broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 6-15. As for Elkin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.

East Wilkes wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Wilkes Central on the 9th. As for Elkin, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Alleghany on the 9th.
