Basketball Game Preview: Maranatha Christian Eagles vs. La Jolla Country Day Torreys

Maranatha Christian hasn't had much luck against La Jolla Country Day recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Maranatha Christian Eagles will challenge the La Jolla Country Day Torreys at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Eagles on Friday. Maranatha Christian came out on top against Tri-City Christian by a score of 57-45. Maranatha Christian hasn't had any issues with Tri-City Christian recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, La Jolla Country Day fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Santa Fe Christian on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 79-70 to the Eagles. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (61), the Torreys still had to take the loss.

La Jolla Country Day's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Maranatha Christian, the victory got them back to even at 13-13.

Maranatha Christian lost to La Jolla Country Day on the road by a decisive 63-46 margin in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can Maranatha Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
