Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Tessa Durand and Savannah Farris Lead Laguna Beach to Victory

After losing to Dana Hills the last time they met, Laguna Beach decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Breakers blew past the Dolphins 3-0 on Thursday. The game was the first time the Breakers have beaten the Dolphins on their court since September 13, 2021.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-22, 27-25.

Laguna Beach was led to victory by Savannah Farris and Tessa Durand. Farris had 17 digs and three assists, while Durand had four aces and two assists. Those four aces gave Durand a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Laguna Beach was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 22 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

The win got Laguna Beach back to even at 1-1. As for Dana Hills, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Laguna Beach didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Newport Harbor on the 15th. As for Dana Hills, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Poway on the 15th.
